Labor Watch: Week 35

I have been having contractions since early in this pregnancy due to the rapid growth of my belly. But recently they have changed. I have experienced many symptoms of impending labor including that I am sleepy and/or sleeping twelve hours of the day and night. I am having loose bowel movements. Not hungry or vomit when I eat too much. I also feel the contractions in my vagina and buttocks. They have been lasting longer to the point of 80 seconds. My NST's have gone from once to twice weekly because he is nonreactive. He looking good on ultrasound and passed the diaphragm test where chest raises in a practicing breathing motion.  My nesting is about done except finding cloth diaper deals which I hoped to wait until Black Friday to purchase but he may most likely come before Turkey Day.

Crying Or Snoring Baby In Womb

I have this pass week or so been feeling a rumble in my belly. At first it felt like if something was wrong... like a lot of mothers do when something is unfamiliar. I thought seizures!  I googled and found all different posts and forums stating how many mothers like myself have wondered about this rattlesnake phenomenom. I have also thought as I see it happen more often and rhythmic that it might be snoring. Just like daddy! Lol! Maybe he had a matchbox car in there already and was just playing or maybe he was purring and comforting himself like a kitten.  Well, it is true that babies practice breathing in the womb and this sensation may be just that. It may also be the baby crying in the womb or stretching in the womb.  Since I have polyhydramnios, I figured I just felt more than other normal pregnancies and it was just waves of the excess liquid in my uterus that our son is having fun swimming around in.  Whatever it is, I hope he is growing healthy as the weekly ultrasounds and NST

Pregnancy: I'm Surprised I'm Not Tipping Over Yet!!!

I am very surprised I am not tipping over yet! I have the biggest stomach I ever did have in all my life! Measuring at a 48" all around, I am 4 feet of belly! Wow! Oh, and I still have a month left to go until my "due date" !!  Bittersweet Diagnosis: Polyhydramnios   Being recently diagnosed with polyhydramnios has been bittersweet. Sweet in that I know now I was right in my diet and I wasn't gaining all this water weight unhealthily on my own. Bitter as there is a whole new set of risks associated with this situation. Overdistended uterus, PROM or water breaking early, preterm labor, contractions for months, cord prelapse during labor, baby possibly having swallowing issues, gestational diabetes possibility, extra weight gain, bed rest, baby having possible heart, lung or gastional intestional issues.  My Weight Gain My weight has now plateaud since last month, at about 180-182 pounds. Gaining a total of about 30-35 pounds this pregnancy. Starting out overweight I w

Huge menstrtal cramp and contraction because of full bladder sent me to bathroom second time through the night. Bleeding while wiping with morning urine. Called the midwife. Mentioned bleeding now and previous mention of my placental position during my 20 week ultrasound. Told t

Pregnancy Insomnia & 9 Months Worth of Morning Sickness

This isn't a scientific study or evidence based anything. It is just my experience and my thoughts on the matter. I have dealt with insomnia my whole life but pregnancy insomnia is on a whole different level. Sleeping while young and busy is something that you can play with amounts and timing. Unfortunately, when  you are pregnant and already a mother that is something that is essential to daily life. If one nap or hour is missed, life goes haywire. Working while pregnant caused me to think twice about what was priority . I had to rarely get to work when the spots swimming in front of my eyes blocked my vision and my head in the toilet caused my already tardy self to be not only later but absentee . I was so sick straight through my fifth month with no "just the first trimester" morning sickness. It was going to last all throughout my pregnancy and I had to find a solution. The first solution was to constantly eat . Keeping my belly full kept the nausea away most

GROW BABY GROW !

I am at five months pregnant more than I was 9 months pregnant with my first child and nearly as much when I  was with my second child. I am hoping it is healthy weight gain since I have been so sick with morning sickness.  My cure for morning sickness has been to keep my stomach "topped off" and FULL! It decreases the amount of acid I would taste in my throat and hunger I would feel at an almost constant level the first four months. Yes, I said four months and still going! They say morning sickness lasts only the first trimester. For me that was true with my daughters. I felt a bit nauseous but never the vomiting and dizziness that sent me to the doctor as much as with this pregnancy. The weight I gained was when I learned the trick to not vomiting was to CONSTANTLY be eating.  The weight is piling on now and he is a big boy so far. He is measuring just right for his age but you can see all the chubs on the sonograms already. My stomach is measuring about three
